Flipping pancakes, washing dishes cleaning tables....sounds like fun? It really is a good time when you're with fellow Rotarians! Please consider donating some time to help out!  Sign-ups are taking place during Friday meetings.  Take a minute to look at your calendar and block some time off on that day to volunteer.  We will need volunteers for set-up on Friday, March 18th (after 3PM - we must wait until the end of the school day to enter McKinley High School) or during the two shifts on 'Pancake Saturday'.

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT "DONE-IN-A-DAY" SCHEDULED FOR FEB. 25TH AS WELL AS APRIL 6TH

Fellow Canton Rotarians, please consider volunteering your time for our Rotary 'Junior Achievement-In-A-Day' programs at Harter Elementary School on Thursday February 25th and Dueber Elementary School on Wednesday April 6th.

We will be teaching 'JA Our Community' to second graders on both of those days. This program teaches these students about business and jobs in a community, working for a wage (the students get 'paid' to make paper donuts!), taxes and how taxes pay for government services and workers, and how money moves through a community.

The kids LOVE this program! And they love having US present it!

Time commitment is 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. We are striving to have enough volunteers to have two-person teams in each classroom. We will have 6 classrooms at Harter (target 12 volunteers total) and 4 classrooms at Dueber (target 8 volunteers total).

Teaching these valuable Junior Achievement lessons is easy and fun! JA provides all of the materials for the classes, including an easy-to-follow volunteer guidebook. JA also provides training.

If you've volunteered before, I invite you to join us again. If you have not volunteered before and are curious, I invite you to contact me or speak to your fellow Rotarians who have volunteered in the past to find out how easy and rewarding it can be.

Thanks! We hope to see you at Harter or Dueber Schools!

Please contact JA-In-A-Day chairperson Rick Taylor to volunteer: rtaylor@jaonline.org or 330-575-2870.
