During the July 15, 2016 meeting, Club Secretary Suzette Matthews along with PP Dan Matthews presented Suzette's parents, Edward and Betty Frank, with a Paul Harris Fellow.  Suzette had the following to say while presenting the PHF's:

"PAUL HARRIS FELLOWS, July 15, 2016

Be kind.  Be thankful.  Be thoughtful.

Always go the extra mile.  No one owes you anything. Do it right the first time.

Give from the heart, with all of your heart.

These are lessons that I am so grateful to have learned in watching my parents give and live so unselfishly to others in need throughout their lives.
Even when they had very little, they still found a way to give of their time, talent or treasure.

From countless donations of everything from their own homegrown Yukon Gold potatoes (that they still grow today), to hundreds of pairs of shoes, and money, time and effort to their community, church, family, and charities…they truly do exemplify “Giving from the heart, with heart.”
That is why Dan and I have chosen Edward and Betty Frank (my Mom & Dad), to receive the highest honor Rotary bestows on a person.
(Surprise! And you thought it was just lunch).

The Paul Harris Fellow Award is named after Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary. The award acknowledges “Service above Self” which that an individual has offered to their community, their nation and to the world.     Mom & Dad, this is YOU!

A donation has been made in your honor to this program to help promote peace, provide clean water, support mothers and children, promote education and literacy…and the biggest ROTARY GOAL…to ERADICATE POLIO and (in the very near future) have a POLIO FREE WORLD!

On behalf of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, it gives us great joy to present to each of you, Edward Frank and Betty Frank, Paul Harris Fellowship Awards.

You now join the ranks of many other distinguished Paul Harris Fellows all over the world.

Congratulations!"
