During the Rotary meeting on Friday, May 12, 2017, Past President Dan Matthews presented his brother, George D. Matthews, with a Paul Harris Fellow. George has provided 50 years of service to their family's business, the RJ Matthews Company.

The Paul Harris Fellow Award is named after Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary. The award acknowledges “Service above Self” that the recipient has provided to their community, their nation and to the world. A donation was made in George's honor to help promote peace, provide clean water, support mothers and children, and to promote education and literacy, as well as assist with the major Rotary goal…to ERADICATE POLIO!

George now joins the ranks of all the other distinguished Paul Harris Fellows all over the world. Congratulations to George Matthews on becoming the newest Paul Harris Fellow!
