The Rotary Club of Canton "The Finest Rotary Club in the World" just had a terrific weekend!
 
Over the weekend, District 6650 had its annual District Conference.  On Saturday, May 1, 2016, the presentation of District Awards was presented to the respective winning club for their submission.  The Rotary Club of Canton was very fortunate this year to receive 4 out of 6 trophies!!
 
**The following is a breakdown of the District Awards received by the Rotary Club of Canton: 
 
 
John A. "Jack" Maxwell Award for Outstanding Bulletin ~This Award is presented annually to the Rotary Club that PUBLISHES THE MOST OUTSTANDING BULLETIN in District 6650
  • The Rotary Club of Canton submitted the following editions of the Rotogram ~ July 17, 2015, July 24, 2015, December 18, 2015, February 12, 2016 and March 11, 2016
 
Jack Vogel Award for Public Relations ~ This Award is presented annually to the Rotary Club that has the most OUTSTANDING PUBLIC RELATIONS EFFORT in District 6650
 
 
Dr. Roland A. Luhman Award for Community Service ~ This Award is presented annually to the Rotary Club, which completed the most outstanding COMMUNITY SERVICE project in District 6650
  • The Rotary Club of Canton won with their submission of the "Oktoberfest"
 
Bryce Webster Kendall Award for Club Service ~ This Award is presented annually to the Rotary Club, which completed the most outstanding CLUB SERVICE project in District 6650
  • The Rotary Club of Canton won with their submission of the Club's 100th Anniversary
 
The Rotary Club of Canton also received recognition for our contribution to cure polio worldwide.
 
To top off the weekend, our Health Screen & Wellness Fair with Mercy Medical Center drew over 100 people. We have been asked by Mercy to repeat this event in the fall.
 
In other news, how about Suzette Matthews bringing in $1,200 dollars with her run in the Hall of Fame Marathon which she competed in and finished!
 
 It is with great pride that I represent the Canton Rotary Club as its President and I congratulate all Rotarians in the  Rotary Club of Canton for bringing home all these awards and success.  A special thank you to Lauri and Barb for their work in preparing the presentations to the District.
