At our weekly meeting on July 14, 2017, President Amanda Tietze welcomed the 66 members and 7 guests to the meeting.PP Virginia Neutzling gave the Invocation.
President Amanda then asked members with a July birthday to stand and be recognized.
Secretary Suzette Matthews welcomed the following guests to the meeting: Beth Shaub (speaker); Christian Tietze (guest of President Amanda Tietze); Phil Paschal (guest of Steve Fettman); Jessica Ailing and Joe French (new members being introduced through Leadership Stark County); Rich Dever (guest of PP Dan Matthews); Benjamin Childers (Rotarian); James T. Boggs (guest of PDG/PP Dave Ewing); Dan Mabre (guest of Dennis Dent).
The "Happy Bucks" was then provided by the following:
- $1: PP Craig Young - Happy to be part of the "peanut gallery" again;
- $1: Robert Matthews - Happy to be in the new facility;
- $1: Dennis Dent - Happy to see everyone here today;
- $1: Suzette Matthews - Happy for husband Dan Matthews' birthday on July 4th.
President Amanda then installed two new incoming Trustees: Frank Fleischer and Bill Liber;
President Amanda then made the following announcements from the podium:
- The annual golf outing will take place on August 18th at the Sanctuary Golf Course. The Golf Committee is looking for Rotarians or businesses to be "Hole Sponsors" for $75.00. Golf flyers are on the table for you to sign up your foursome and/or to sign up as a hole sponsor;
- a brief Oktoberfest Committee meeting will take place immediately following the conclusion of today's Rotary meeting;
- there will be a brief Presidential Advisory Committee meeting at the conclusion of today's Rotary meeting;
- next week's speaker will be District Governor Mike Raulin. The District Governor will have a Board of Directors meeting at the conclusion of next Friday's meeting;
- Finally, we will NOT have a meeting on August 4th due to a previously scheduled function that the Krassas Event Center has with the Pro Football Hall of Fame festivities.
PDG/PP Dave Ewing then announced the upcoming Rotary Foundation Paul Harris Fellow auction. The winning bid can receive up to three (3) Paul Harris Fellows and the money will benefit The Rotary Foundation. (*Please see story above for further information);
Rotarian Stephanie Werren then introduced two new members whom she sponsored, Joseph French and Jessica Ailing (*see story above)
President Elect/Speaker Chair Mark Rojek then introduced his speaker for the day, Beth Shaub from Hartville Chocolate Factory.
The following Rotarians turned in a makeup during Friday's meeting: Ernie Schott (2-Canton South); Jim Molnar (Malvern); Jerry Ortman (2 - East Canton).
The follow Oktoberfest Committee members will receive a makeup for attending the July 14, 2017 meeting: Drew Pelger, Tony Pierce, Jim Blake, Bruce Hale, Bob Matthews, Rob Roland, PP Craig Young, David Beule and Don Peterson.
