At our weekly meeting on July 22, 2016, President Craig Young welcomed our members and guest to the meeting.

Rotarian Tony Pierce gave the Invocation.

Club Secretary Suzette Matthews welcomed the following guest to the meeting:  Michael Doyle.

Suzette then provided this week's Rotafact: Why Rotary?

Every day that you serve Rotary, you have the opportunity to change lives.
Every thing you do does indeed matter. Every good work you do, matters.
Everything you do makes a better world for all of us. In this new Rotary year, we all have a great opportunity and new chance to change the world for the better through Rotary Serving Humanity.

The "Happy Bucks" news was then provided by the following Rotarians:

  • Lynn Hamilton - in honor of John Germ, Rotary International President. Lynn feels it is appropriate for an organization fighting a disease like polio to be lead by a person named 'Germ'!
  •
  • Jerry Ortman - in honor of his Family coming into town this weekend.
  •
  • Bruce Schorsten - in honor of the hosting of the annual Schorsten Junior Golf Tournament this past weekend. Schorsten's have been sponsoring it for 47 years and hope to get to 50 years.
  •
  • Amanda Tietze - is happy that she is starting her vacation today!
Golf Chairman Nick Perini took to the podium to remind members of the upcoming Golf Outing slated for August 19, 2016 at the Sanctuary Golf Course.  Nick reminded everyone to get their foursome into the office and if you do not have a foursome, no worries, you will be paired with others that are in the same situation!  Also, if you would like to be a hole sponsor for the event, he asked that you get word into the Rotary office.  (*the cost for the golf outing is $50 per person and a hole sponsor is $75).  Lunch is still $13.00 for those who will not be golfing but would like to attend.

PP Dan Matthews then presented his new member, Rob Roland, to the Club. (*Please see story above to view Rob's biography).

President Craig then presented the "State of the Club" to the membership.  President Craig was then joined at the podium with a presentation from the Committee Chairs regarding their respective committee.  *Please see story above.
