At our weekly meeting on June 3, 2016, President Paul White welcomed our members and guests to the meeting.
 
Rotarian Suzette Matthews gave the Invocation.
 
President Paul then recognized all members with a June birthday.
 
Club Secretary Michelle Mullaly welcomed the following guests to the meeting:  Carol Risaliti and Dennis Dent (guests of David Roberts), Barb Cockroft (guest and sister of PDG/PP Dave Ewing), Alex Mustafaga (guest and son of Amy Mustafaga), Ella Vehmas (Youth Exchange student) and Holly Gartner (host mother for Ella Vehmas).
 
The "Happy Bucks" news was then provided by the following Rotarians:
  • Tim Franta - was happy to relay that 35 years ago today his daughter, Jennifer, was born;
  •  
  • Suzette Matthews - was happy to provide $26.50 to the Happy Bucks in honor of Arch Klumph, founder of Rotary International Foundation;
  •  
  • Dave Beule - was happy to remind everyone about "First Friday" downtown that night.  He also stated it would be the first open container night which would be very exciting;
  •  
  • Amy Mustafaga - was very happy to have Holly Gartner in attendance.  Holly opened her home up this entire year for Canton's Youth Exchange Student, Ella Vehmos;
  •  
  • Mark Clendenin - was happy he got back to work on Tuesday and got a break from all the work his wife made him do over the holiday weekend;
  •  
  • President Elect Craig Young -  was also very happy for Tim Franta's daughter, Jennifer, because she cuts his entire family's hair;
  •  
  • President Paul White - was very happy to see Rotarian Alan Rodriguez in attendance since he has been unable to attend a meeting in awhile.
President Paul then thanked Rotarian Becky Clark for the excellent speakers she provided in the month of May.
 
Youth Exchange Chairwoman Amy Mustafaga then took to the podium and made a request to the members to PLEASE consider opening their home up to our incoming youth exchange student.  We are in dire need of a host family.  Amy then introduced our current Youth Exchange Student Ella Vehmas.  Ella presented a powerpoint of events she has participated in during her stay in Canton.  Ella also thanked the Rotary Club of Canton for allowing her to have this experience of a lifetime.  She also thanked her host family, the Gartner's.
 
President Paul then concluded the meeting by reminding the membership that if they were planning on doing a "Makeup" at the Canton South Rotary Club on Thursday, June 9th, this Club will NOT be having its regular morning meeting due to an event they will be having that evening. Please plan on attending another club if you are in need of a makeup.
 
The following Rotarians turned in a makeup during Friday's meeting:  Sharon Sirpilla (North Canton), Phil Lattavo (3-Catalina/Tucson).
