Wendy is a graduate of Kent State University, receiving her undergraduate degree in Individual and Family Studies. She received her Master of Science from Case Western Reserve in Social Administration.
Wendy started at Pathway Caring for Children as an intern working with therapeutic foster children. After her internship, and graduation from Kent State, she was soon hired at Pathway as a full time case manager. As a case manager, she maintained a caseload of 15 to 17 foster children. This job consisted of working with foster parents and foster children to get the children connected to appropriate services and to work on behavior management plans.
Wendy was then promoted to Intake Director after 5 years as a case manager. As intake director she was responsible for taking referrals from surrounding county agencies and finding matching foster homes.
The next position Wendy had with Pathway was Foster Care Director. In this position she was responsible for the entire foster care program.
In 2009 Wendy became Chief Service Officer. In this position she oversaw all Service Programs including Foster Care, Mental Health, Family Services and Group Living.
In 2012 Wendy became Executive Director of Pathway Caring for Children. Wendy is also a graduate of Leadership Stark County Signature Program, 27th class.
At our weekly meeting on December 4, 2014, Canton Rotarian Michelle Mullaly introduced our newest member, Ben Seeley, to the Rotary Club of Canton. President Tom Clevenger is Ben's sponsor.
Ben joined Bruner Cox LLP in 2008 bringing with him six years of legal, tax, and accounting experience. Prior to joining Bruner Cox LLP, Ben worked for a Cleveland area law firm that focused on tax and wealth management for businesses and high net-worth individuals.
Ben also spent four years working with the tax practice of EY, where he provided consulting and compliance services for publicly traded and privately owned businesses. In addition to these roles, he has also served as a court-appointed receiver in foreclosure and liquidation actions. Before attending law school, Ben worked as a staff and cost accountant for a mid-sized manufacturing firm in the Akron area.
As a graduate of The University of Akron, Ben earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy along with his Masters of Taxation and Juris Doctorate degrees. Ben has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2000.
Ben has taught tax classes for The University of Akron School of Accountancy and teaches CPA review courses through Becker Professional Education. He is a member of The Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, The Akron Bar Association, The Akron Chapter of The Charles F. Scanlon and Judge Samuel H. Bell Inn of Court and The Canton Estate Planning Forum. Ben also serves as Treasurer on the board of trustees for the Canton Symphony Orchestra.

In the December 7, 2014 edition of The Canton Repository a Repository Staff Report was written entitled "Canton Brewing Co. ready to tap its inaugural barrels".
The story reads: "The Canton Brewing Co. will tap three batches of beer at a party set for Saturday at The Auricle. The party, which will start at 6 p.m. at the 601 Cleveland Ave. N.W. bar, will replace the anticipated opening of the new brewery's pub, which has been delayed, brewmaster Dave Sutula said.
The Canton Brewing Co., at 120 Third St. N.W, planned to open Saturday. The day was chosen because of its number-sequential date, 12-13-14. However, several issues will delay that opening, primarily the need for additional structural support, Sutula said. The brewery is opening in the back of the Rite Aid building that faces Market Avenue N.
"We didn't have every loose end tied up on our end," Sutula said. "We were following the spirit (of the building permit process), but probably not the letter of it."
Canton Brewing Co. has received clearance from the state and federal governments to begin brewing.
Three beers will be unveiled: An India pale ale called MP IPA, a coffee porter brewed using coffee provided by Carpe Diem and a mild ale called AK. Food will be provided.
"Every year in Munich, at Oktoberfest on the opening day, all of the breweries that participate do this same exact ceremony," he said. "We'll say a few words, tap (the keg) and start pouring."
While the brewery's new home won't be ready, the event will allow the Canton Brewery to be true to the date they selected for the opening, Sutula said.
City officials and other downtown businesses have been supportive, he added. "It's really cool. Canton really wants this to be something."
To kick off the Holiday season in December and to help the Charitable Fund, President Elect Paul White would like to put together a "Holiday Gift Basket" and auction it off during our meeting on December 19, 2014. This Holiday gift basket would be full of Ohio Lottery tickets and gift cards to area restaurants. The proceeds from this gift basket will also benefit the Charitable Fund account.
We are asking members to begin bringing in Lottery tickets and/or gift certificates to area restaurants to fill this basket! This will be a very nice Holiday gift for either yourself or family members!! Any questions, please feel free to contact the Rotary office at (330) 452-2882.
