GIVING CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE
Hello Rotarians! My message today is short and sweet (I know what you’re thinking…what a relief).  This Rotogram is filled with good information on upcoming events and happenings, to help keep you connected to our club.

But I must say a word about the contributions of my fellow Rotarians.   This week we identify our Paul Harris Fellows for this Rotary year.  As many of you know, these individuals are recognized for their significant monetary contributions to the Rotary International Fund.  Many of these folks are multiple PHF award winners.  Some are so humble that they make contributions in other peoples’ names and receive no recognition.  Others simply give with no fanfare, expecting no recognition.  Take a moment to look at these humble folks, know that they are supporting the incredible Rotary International mission, and thereby making this world a better place for all of us.

Helping our Club Stay Strong during Rough Times.  As you know, our club is dealing with a major financial shortfall during these times of social separation.  I have asked all of our members to donate the cost of forgone meals to the club…and many of you have responded.  If you haven’t yet responded, please do so now by using our “Donate Now” link on our homepage.  Or if you want to support our golf event, you can earmark your contribution as a “sponsor” to that event.  Or do both.  But please give.

With sincere appreciation,

Mark

THE ROTARY FOUNDATION RECOGNIZES NEW PAUL HARRIS FELLOWS
As the 2019-2020 Rotary year comes to a close we wish to celebrate those Rotarians and Friends who have been honored by The Rotary Foundation as Paul Harris Fellows of the Rotary Club of Canton, Ohio.  The Paul Harris Fellow recognition is named after Paul P. Harris who founded Rotary in 1905.  The Paul Harris Fellow recognition program was established in 1957 to recognize those individuals who contribute outright or in whose name has been contributed a gift of US$1,000 to The Rotary Foundation.

Established in 1917, The Rotary Foundation pioneered a new model of service leadership founded in person-to-person connections thru Rotary Clubs that span the globe—bridging cultural, linguistic, generational, and geographic barriers—and that shares the vision of a better world.  In 2018-2019 the Foundation raised over $395 million.  Our Global Focus is:  Peacebuilding and conflict prevention; Disease prevention and treatment; Water, sanitation, and hygiene; Maternal and child health; Basic education and literacy; Community economic development.

We are pleased to congratulate the following new Paul Harris Fellows:

THE ROTARY FOUNDATION RECOGNIZES MULTIPLE PAUL HARRIS FELLOWS

Congratulations!  These members have been named Multiple Paul Harris Fellows by The Rotary Foundation.  Current Paul Harris Fellows who continue contributions to The Rotary Foundation are recognized with a new pin with an additional stone to recognize each additional $1,000 contributed.  Thus a Paul Harris Fellow who had made continuing gifts over his life time may have a PHF Pin with multiple stones. ( i.e. A PHF+3 pin with 3 blue stones symbolizes total giving of $4,000)  In addition, at each $1,000 level you may name a friend or family member as a Paul Harris Fellow.
