Allyson Bussey has spent her whole career thus far in the Travel and Tourism Industry. For the past 6 years she has been in the role of Tourism Marketing Manager of the Canton/Stark County Convention & Visitors’ Bureau in NE Ohio, and more recently became Assistant Director of the CVB . Before the CVB she spent 8 years at the Amish Door Village where she served as Marketing Assistant and then Marketing Director. Allyson’s passion for the Tourism Industry have driven her to serve in many leadership roles in tourism including being a graduate of Ohio Tourism Leadership Academy, Adventures in NE Ohio Board Member and Past President, and as an OTA Executive Board Member to name a few. Allyson has been awarded YStark’s 20 under 40 award, Adventure in NE Ohio Excellence Award, the 2014 Ohio Travel Industry Emerging Leader Award and is a graduate of Leadership Stark County’s signature program. When Ally is not working she enjoys camping with her husband and daughter in Perry Twp.

President Walter Witham’s presidency was remarkably free from innovations.
Frank Onesto got complaints that the room was too small for the club’s increased membership which was now at 119 members all year. Frank’s reply was that he wasn’t making any money off Rotary Club, and that he couldn’t enlarge his quarters under existing conditions. If they wanted to go elsewhere, go ahead and he would go along with them. But they stayed, except for a couple of golf days in July 1936 and June 1937 at Orchard Hills Country Club, which always pulled the attendance down.
Club attendance received special attention and showed material improvement. The directors acted and passed new regulations at a June 8, 1937 meeting in line with International requirements to take effect July 1, 1937 that membership would be automatically terminated after four consecutive absences without valid excuse or after a six months’s record of less than 60% attendance, without valid excuse. Two resignations were received due to the new regulations, with intentions that 20 more were going to resign, but the directors stood pat.
The Rotary International Convention was held in Nice, France but no one from Canton Rotary attended.
The YWCA continued the use of the Lake cable property for the second year for a Day camp. The Crippled Children’s Christmas Party was held at The Ohio Power Company with 60 children attending and 150 – 200 Canton Rotarians and guests in attendance.
On March 3, 2015, the Rotary office received a "Thank You" letter from Barbara Mucci, Director of Development of the Canton Symphony Orchestra. Barbara writes:

At our weekly meeting on March 13, 2015, President Tom reminded members about the annual Pancake Festival and Health Screen and Wellness Fair taking place on Saturday. He also reminded the Endowment Committee there would be a meeting immediately following the Rotary meeting.
Past President Mike Gregorek filled in for Dan Matthews on the "Game of Knowledge". Since the Pancake Festival was the following day, Mike's questions revolved around the Pancake Day and the winning contestants won four free tickets to the event.
Club Secretary Amanda Tietze welcomed the following guest to our meeting: Mark Clendenning (Jackson Rotarian).

After the workshops, we will have the Youth Exchange Students displays and talent show, followed by a “picnic” featuring smoked meats and barbecue provided by Buehler’s Fresh Foods.
Rotarians are encouraged to bring their children and grandchildren on Saturday. There are many family-friendly activities that will be available for those not attending the sessions and workshops. There is a special pricing for children and a kid friendly menu.
Whether you are attending or not attending the District Conference, you have the opportunity to sponsor Youth Exchange Student meals at the cost of $50 per student. We are also offering a discount for Host Families who are planning on attending the District Conference.
