Rotarians, it is once again the "giving" time of year when we remember the exceptional service the staff of Meyer's Lake Ballroom/Mr. Mike's Catering has provided to us throughout the year. We will begin taking donations for these fine individuals beginning Friday, December 4th as well as Friday, December 11th.
Any monetary amount is appreciated! Just look for the "tip" containers which will be located on the attendance table to make your donation.

Each October is the annual fund drive for the Canton Rotary Charitable Fund. As Rotarians, we all subscribe to “Service Above Self”. The annual Charitable Fund drive is a way we can all follow the Service Above Self motto. The annual drive is critical to having the funds to support our traditional local projects such as: Rotary Scouts, Philomatheon Society, Sister Rotary Club in Dominican Republic, Junior Achievement, Stark County Library, Exchange Students (inbound and outbound), Project Warm and many more. We recently have not been able to grant funds to all the worthy programs and charities that we would want to support.
I feel we are at a critical stage for our Rotary Club, a point where we need to show the community we are a valuable asset to the future growth of Canton and are an integral part of the change in Canton. One way to accomplish this is to have projects branded under Canton Rotary that are visible and recognized by the city and everyone who visits. For Canton Rotary to be able to make an impact that is permanent and branded in Canton, we need a healthy charitable fund.
I ask that each Rotarian donate to the Charitable Fund this year. While no donation is too small, we are asking that each Rotarian donate at least $100. If you cannot donate $100, please donate $25 or whatever amount you are able. Personally, I am doubling my donation from previous years, and ask everyone to do the same if possible.
We made a nice splash with our Canton Rotary Oktoberfest, let’s keep the momentum going with this year’s Canton Rotary Charitable Fund drive. Our goal this year is $15,000. Please join me in this journey so when we say we are “The Finest Rotary Club in the World” we know that each and every one of us is a part of making that claim true.
With sincere gratitude,
Craig A. Young
President-Elect

.jpg) At our weekly meeting on November 13, 2015, President Paul White asked members to keep Canton Rotarian Jim Lockshin in their prayers. He informed the members that Jim has improved and is more mobile and talking more. Jim and his wife, Shirley, will be leaving for Florida on Saturday.
Club Secretary Michelle Mullaly welcomed our guests to the meeting: Steve Toohey (R -Canton South); Joyce Carr, Susan White and Jerry Haber (R -Austintown).
President Paul announced the nominees for the Board of Trustees and Officers of the Club with their term beginning July 2016: TRUSTEES - Bruce Hale, Dean Gogolewski, Drew Pelger and Don Peterson. OFFICERS - Craig Young-President; Amanda Tietze-President Elect; Michelle Mullaly-Vice President; Tom Clevenger-Treasurer; Suzette Matthews-Secretary; Bob Matthews-Sergeant-at-Arms. A Motion was made that nominations be closed and a unanimous ballot was cast and approved.
Drew Pelger made an announcement informing members who shop on Amazon to instead go to the website Smile.Amazon.com to make purchases because the Canton Rotary Charitable Fund is now a Charity you may choose and 0.5% of your purchase will go directly to the Canton Rotary Charitable Fund. If you have any questions, Drew suggested you contact him at (330) 834-0003 and he would be glad to help.
PDG Dave Ewing then took to the podium to present a Paul Harris Fellow to Joyce Carr, wife of fellow Rotarian Bob Carr, as well as a Paul Harris Fellow to Club President Paul White. Bob Carr received a PHF+1 pin.
The "Happy Bucks" was then presented by the following Rotarians: Chris Burt was very happy to announce the birth of his new grandchild, Silis Benjamin Burt who weighed in at 11 pounds 23 ounces; Bob Pattison was very happy about the Nebraska win over Michigan State; and Bob Matthews was very pleased with how well the Health Screen and Wellness Fair went. He thanked everyone who helped publicize the event and for those who volunteered.
The following Rotarians will receive a makeup for contributing to the Thanksgiving Basket Food Donation on November 13th: Dan Matthews, Suzette Matthews, Jan Baker, Larry Pitts, Rick Huetter and Pete Taflan.
The following Rotarians will receive a makeup for helping make phone calls for the Health Fair: Sharon Sirpilla, Lucia Cirese, Julia Dick, Tena Wilson, Virginia Neutzling and Judy Lorigan.
The following Rotarians turned in a makeup: Lynn Hamilton (North Canton); Suzette Matthews (Perry) and Dan Matthews (Perry).

Dear Rotarian,
As you are aware, November is Rotary Foundation month. Thank you to all those who actively support the Rotary Foundation throughout the year.
At one of your Club meetings this month, you will be shown a special video with information about the good works of the Rotary Foundation. Thank you to your President for making time for this presentation.
The video will introduce the Paul Harris Fellow Challenge -- for each $20 donated to the Rotary Foundation, you will get one chance to win a Paul Harris Fellow Recognition for you, your spouse, or a friend ($40=two chances, etc..).
Your President will have received special envelopes for this donation. Please return your envelopes to your President as the funds must be received by me by January 1st.
All the funds will go to support our Foundation doing good in the world.
The video is available at: https://youtu.be/ku4rtRJ-rhU
Thank you.
- Peter Apicella, M.D., Rotary Foundation District Chair
