BRIANNA HILL AND JULIE ELKINS FROM DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROJECT TO SPEAK THIS FRIDAY
Brianna Hill, Acting Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer – Domestic Violence Project, Inc.

Brianna graduated from The Ohio State University in May 2008, with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance. She continued her education at The University of Akron in a dual degree program obtaining both her Juris Doctorate and master’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Management in May 2014. She was sworn in as a member of the Ohio State bar in November 2014.

Brianna has spent almost 12 years working in support of survivors of domestic violence. She first joined Domestic Violence Project, Inc. in 2008 as an Accounting Assistant. In 2014, she moved to Cleveland and joined the Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center working in both finance and human resources. During her time with DVCAC she also worked as a Guardian ad Litem in the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Juvenile Division, advocating for child victims of abuse and neglect. She moved into her current role as Chief Financial Officer with Domestic Violence Project, Inc. in April 2019. She currently represents DVPI as a member of the Homeless Continuum of Care of Stark County.

Brianna lives in Cleveland with her boyfriend, Mark, and son, Brodie. She is a member of the St. Thomas More Athletic Board, entering her 7th year on the board. She has also spent three seasons coaching youth basketball, having coached boys in 3rd through 5th grades.

Julie Elkins, Board President - Domestic Violence Project, Inc.

Julie Elkins graduated from Marietta College in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Advertising and Public Relations and a minor in Marketing. While at Marietta, she also participated in The McDonough Center for Leadership and Business program, where she received a minor in Leadership Studies. In 2018, Julie received a masters from Kent State University in Business Administration. Currently, Julie holds two dynamic roles. First, she is the community relations coordinator for Aultman Health Foundation, where she oversees the Generations program, a free program that encourages community members 50 years and older to stay active. Secondly, Julie is the executive assistant and grants coordinator for North Canton Medical Foundation, a stand-alone, medical-conversion, grant-giving foundation.

Julie joined the Domestic Violence Project, Inc. Board of Directors five years ago because she believes strongly in the DVPI mission. Currently, she serves as Board President. Volunteering on the Board is her way of giving back to an organization that was there for her when she needed them the most.   No matter the amount of education or how intelligent a person is, traumatic experiences are hard to navigate. That is what makes DVPI’s specialized services so important. In those tough times, everyone needs someone who not only understands “the system,” but also understands what is emotionally happening.

Julie is engaged in many community outreach programs including the Leadership Stark County, North Canton YMCA, RAHAB Ministries, Pathway Caring for Children as well as serving on the Board for the Domestic Violence Project, Inc. This year, Julie received the 2020 ystark! Twenty under 40! award from the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce. Outside of work, she stays busy with her nine-year-old daughter, church activities and running and bicycling to stay fit.
