At the March 22, 2019 meeting, President Michelle Mullaly welcomed 47 members and 4 guests to the meeting. President Michelle informed everyone there was a "thinking of you" card to sign for Rotarian Dick Smith who is in Woodlawn battling pneumonia and bronchitis. *Editor's note: Dick has been moved back to Aultman Hospital. He is able to have visitors if you would like to visit with him.
Past President Paul White gave the Invocation.
Congratulations to Rotarian Jeff Scott for having the winning 50/50 raffle ticket worth $35.00.
Secretary Suzette Matthews welcomed the following guests to the meeting: Amanda Anschutz (speaker); Ron Haines (R-Seattle); Michael Caskey (guest of Jeff Scott); Robyn Fettman (guest/daughter of Steve Fettman).

The "Happy News" was then provided by the following:
  • Mark Clendenin - in celebration of his youngest daughter getting her driver's license;
  •     -  also in celebration of rubbing shoulders with David Beule who rubbed shoulders with President Trump this week;
  • Mike Abbott - in honor of his wife, Barb's, new "Stark County Food" book, now available for purchase (sample on the Welcome Table);
  • Raquel Raderchak - in sympathy for new incoming member, Alex Dowell, whose mother recently passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Alex. *Editor's note - a sympathy card was immediately passed around the room to send to Alex and her family;
  • David Beule - in thanks for the opportunity to meet President Trump this week and also for the opportunity to attend the St. Patty's Day party at the White House last week.
President Michelle then informed the members of the target list of potential 'Organizational Membership' companies on the tables. Members are asked to review the list and ask someone they may know to attend one of our upcoming Rotary meetings. We have great speakers lined up for you!
President Elect Mark Rojek made an announcement along with a power point presentation on the upcoming Health Screen and Wellness Fair on April 27, 2019. This event will once again be held at Mercy Hall Auditorium.Flyers for this event were made available to the members to help get word out to the public.
March speaker chair Raquel Raderchak introduced her speaker for the day, Amanda Anschutz, President and Co-founder of Compassion Delivered. They provide nutritional meals at no cost to people in our community who are coping with life-threatening or terminal illnesses.
President Michelle concluded the meeting with the following announcements:
  • everyone can turn their cell phones back on;
  • next week's speaker will be Dick Maggiore, Co-Founder, President and CEO of Innis Maggiore, who will be speaking on "Marketing is a Battle of Perceptions, Not Tomatoes".
  • if you had not already done so, please consider signing the 'thinking of you' card for Rotarian Dick Smith as well as the sympathy card for incoming new member Alex Dowell and her family.
The following Rotarians turned in makeups:  Robert Matthews (2 - Venice Nokomis Rotary); PDG/PP Bob Pattison (11-Cocoa Beach, FL); Bill Maddox (Perry).
The following will receive a makeup for attending the Oktoberfest committee meeting on Thursday, March 21, 2019: Co-chair Raquel Raderchak, Co-chair Don Peterson and PP Paul White.
The following Board of Trustees will receive a makeup for attending the Board meeting on Tuesday, March 19, 2019: President Michelle Mullaly, President Elect Mark Rojek, Vice President Drew Pelger, Treasurer Tom Clevenger, Sergeant-at-Arms Robert Matthews. Trustees attending were: Mark Clendenin, Bruce Hale, Frank Fleischer, Jeff Scott, Kim Kroh, Jim Molnar, Steve Fettman, Kurt Goodenberger and Assistant Parliamentarian Dave Ewing. *Also in attendance was Honorary Rotarian and Mayor of Canton Thomas Bernabei and Canton City Planner Don Angus.
