The future of Canton

William Sherer II is in his first term as Canton's 72nd mayor.  A lifelong Canton resident, Mayor Sherer graduated from McKinley High School and followed in his father's footsteps as an ironworker.  He spent 18 years as financial secretary, treasurer, and business manager for Ironworkers Local 550 and six years as Canton City Council president.  Mayor Sherer is married to Carrie and has three children and two grandchildren.
