Learn about Forensic Science at the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Michelle will outline the services offered at Ohio BCI and she will touch a little more indepth in the areas she is familiar with (latent prints and GSR). She will explain how they analyze the evidence and highlight a few interesting cases.
Michelle Snyder began her career with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation as a Forensic Scientist in the Latent Prints Section. After almost twenty-four years of examining crime scene evidence for latent finger, palm and bare foot prints, she transferred into the Trace Evidence section where she currently specializes in gunshot residue (GSR) analysis. Michelle holds a Bachelor's of Science in Pre-Medical Biology and a Bachelor's of Arts in Sociology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania as well as a Master of Science in Forensic Science from Marshall University. She has assisted local, state and federal law enforcement agencies with thousands of analyzed cases and subsequent court testimonies
