Al Albacete

A graduate of McKinley High School M. J. Albacete joined the US Navy Reserve, and served two years aboard the USS ESSEX, CVA-9; attended Kent State Stark, obtained his BA at Walsh College, MA at University of Akron.  In 1975 he accepted a position at the Canton Museum of Art on a two-year grant, and retired 38 years later (2014) as Executive Director Emeritus. Concurrently, he served as Associate Professor at Kent State University Stark Campus, teaching classes first in Art History, later History of Architecture, retiring in 2024. His fascination in various topics has resulted in several original exhibitions, involvement in special projects [ie: Statue of Liberty], and a series of popular lectures. Currently, he serves as an Ambassador for the Canton Symphony Orchestra.
