At our weekly meeting on June 1, 2018, Canton Rotarian and Past President Dan Matthews (sponsor) introduced new member, Paul Hervey, to the Rotary Club of Canton.

Paul Hervey, a Canton native, moved to Detroit early in life. Paul graduated from Franklin and Marshall College and Case Western Reserve University School of Law. He returned to Canton to work for the Stark County Public Defender's Office. Paul's wife, Janice, works at Aultman in the Heart Lab & Pain Management Department. Together they have four children, Abby, Jacob, Madeline and Cameron. Janice affectionately refers to Paul as her "fifth child".

Following his trial experience as a public defender and five years as a solo practitioner in charge of litigation in New Philadelphia, Paul joined Day Ketterer as partner-in charge of its Family Law Practice Group.

Paul enjoys volunteering and has founded two organizations benefiting Perry Township Youth: a youth basketball program now serving 1000 youngsters and a chess club that over 100 participated in during its first year. Paul has served as Treasurer of Temple Israel and the Canton Jewish Federation and is a past president of the Temple Israel Brotherhood.

Paul currently serves on the Ohio State Bar Association's Board of Governors and on the bar admission and finance committees of the Stark County Bar Association.
