If you were unfortunate and missed last week’s meeting, boy did you miss out! Fellow Rotarians Karen Brenneman, Jeff Scott, Ernie Schott, and Steve Fettman were incredible as they spoke about their background, business, and tying it all into their involvement in the Canton Rotary Club. I want to thank them all for their willingness to speak so eloquently.
There were two takeaways I got from the panel. First was the value of mentorship. Each one of them had a significant mentor that not only guided them in personal and business pursuits, but those mentors were often the catalyst in getting them involved in the Canton Rotary. Second was linked to the adage that people don’t care what you know until they know that you care. If you’re wanting to collaborate on a business level with fellow Rotarians you need to spend time with them, sit with them at our Friday lunch, work elbow to elbow with them on projects, and develop your friendship. The business will come. Are you that mentor, are you working side-by-side?
This week we launched the website for our annual Spring Fundraising Raffle. Thanks go out to Paul Hervey and his team for their hard work. The website operates the same as last year. Go online, buy your tickets and please them in the baskets of the items you are hoping to win. The more tickets, the better your chances. As an added incentive, the more tickets you purchase the better the deal. Please forward the information to you friends and relatives, as it funds raised go along way in supporting our charitable work.
See you Friday,
