Fellow Rotarians,

Well, I THINK it’s spring? I looked out the window several times today and literally saw all four seasons. It was sunny, cloudy, snowing, and raining. You have just got to love Ohio in the spring. Having missed a meeting and then being off on Good Friday, I feel like I haven’t seen all of you in quite a while.

We have some good meetings scheduled through the end of the year and you are not going to want to miss them. This week we will be getting some education on Community Hospice & Palliative Care.

We have the Canton Rotary “Pack the Backpack” event scheduled for this Saturday, April 26th from 10am until 4pm at Centennial Plaza. I would really encourage all of us to participate. I hope you choose to sign-up as a volunteer at the event, and just as important, I really hope that each one of us will contribute the needed food items. The Canton City child poverty rate comes in at a bit under 57% scoring as the second highest poverty rate in the country.

The Stark County Hunger Task Force Backpack Program provides more than 900 weekend meals for children of 10 local schools - all year round! Child hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation!

See you all Friday (bring some of our needed food items if you can, please!)

President Mark
