During the weekly meeting on Friday, February 14, 2020, President Mark Rojek welcomed the 58 members and 12 guests to the meeting. 
 
Past President Karen Brenneman provided the Invocation.
 
Thank you to the Greeters/Attendance for their service during the meeting:  Greeters: Bill Liber and Sam Shaheen  ; Attendance - Vice President Mark Clendenin. We must not forget to thank former Rotarian Jack Brannen for attending the meeting and playing the piano for a traveling Bill Sparks.
 
Congratulations to Rotarian Jeff Scott for having the winning 50/50 ticket worth $45.00. *Jeff graciously donated the money to President Elect Drew's "Polar Bear Plunge" endeavor which is to benefit his Charitable Fund Drive.
 
Club Secretary Julia Dick welcomed the following guests:  Mark Butterworth (speaker); Rick Baxter (Alliance); Bill Deeser, Ben Mill, Lisa Gould, Mitchell Baxter, Trista Todd (guests of speaker); Don Mullen (Organizational representative from Stark State); Scott Hasselman (Endowment disbursement recipient from "Early Childhood Resource Center"); Carl Morrison (guest of President Mark Rojek); Dallas Godfrey (guest of President Mark Rojek); Richard Regula (Massillon).
 
Rotarian Bill Liber, Golf Committee chair, informed the membership of an upcoming Golf Outing Committee meeting. This meeting will take place immediately following the Rotary meeting on Friday, February 28th. 
 
Rotarian Jon Adland asked for members to sign up to give an Invocation at an upcoming meeting. He passed around a sign-up sheet during the meeting.
 
Rotarian Steve Fettman informed the members of the upcoming Philomatheon Society of the Blind's fundraiser, taking place on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 from 11 am - 10 pm at Taggarts Ice Cream Parlor. A portion of proceeds from the day's sales will be donated to the Philomatheon Society.
 
Rotarian Jennie George took to the podium to let the members know of the Rotary Club of Canton's Interact Club project, "Humane Society Donation Drive".  Between February 14 - March 5, they will be accepting donations for the Humane Society. Flyers are available or you may follow this LINK to view.  **You may bring your donations for this project to the next two Rotary meetings. Please see article above for more info.
 
The Rotary Club of Canton's Endowment Fund committee has selected five non-profit organizations to be recipients of the Endowment Fund's annual disbursement for the 2019-2020. President Mark introduced the fourth of the five representing the non-profit organization "Early Childhood Resource Center". Representing this non-profit was Scott Hasselman. They were presented with a check in the amount of $5,000.00. The mission of the Early Childhood Resource Center is to promote the healthy development of young children by strengthening families, improving the quality of early learning experiences, increasing school and community readiness and informing public policy.
 
 
Vice President Mark Clendenin took to the podium to welcome the speaker for the meeting, Mark Butterworth, COO of CommQuest.
 
 
 
 
President Mark concluded the meeting with the following announcement:  next week's meeting will be the 4-Way Speech Contest.
