WEEKLY MEETING NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

At our weekly meeting on March 23, 2018, President Amanda Tietze welcomed the 50 members and 2 guest to the meeting.
 
Rotarian Steve Fettman gave the Invocation.
 
Secretary Suzette Matthews welcomed the following guests to the meeting: Jin Stearns (speaker); Paul Hervey (guest of PP Dan Matthews).
 
The "Happy News" was then provided by the following:
  •   -  Frank Fleischer - in celebration of going to see his son's musical extravaganza,"Rocktopia", performed on Broadway;
  •  
  •   -  Vice President Mark Rojek - to celebrate the success of the Purdue Boilermakers in the 2018 March Madness playoffs. Goooo Boilermakers!
  •  
  •   -  Gary Sirak - to thank Rotarian Jeff Scott for doing an excellent job interviewing him at last week's meeting (3/16/18);
  •  
  •   - Bruce Schorsten - to celebrate the contractors at the Hall of Fame Village getting paid, and to wish the Hall of Fame great future success!
  •  
  •   - Bruce Hale - to wish Past President Craig Young luck at the North American Truck Conference in hopefully bringing home the 'North American Truck Dealer of the Year Award' for Young Truck Sales.
Rotarian Paula Mastroianni provided the Rotofact.
 
Vice President Mark Rojek gave a rundown of the three top "vote getters" for this year's Rotarian of the Year. Mark provided the members with a description of accomplishments for Rotarians Steve Fettman, PP Rick Taylor and PP Craig Young. He indicated voting for Rotarian of the Year would take place on April 6th and April 13th.
 
March Speaker Chair Jeff Scott then welcomed his speaker, Jin Stearns. Jin is an Author and Life Coach and gave a presentation on his autobiography "Lost Seouls".
 
President Amanda concluded the meeting with the following announcements:
  • she thanked March Speaker Chair Jeff Scott for his outstanding speakers for the month;
  • she reminded everyone there would be NO MEETING on Friday March 30th due to Good Friday;
  • a Golf Committee meeting was to be held following the conclusion of the Rotary meeting.
The following Rotarians will receive a makeup for attending the Golf Committee meeting on Friday, March 23, 2018: Bill Liber, Bruce Schorsten, Julia Dick, Michelle Mullaly, Jack Barkan, Dave Ewing, Mark Rojek, Kurt Goodenberger and Bruce Hale.
 
The following Rotarians will receive a makeup for attending the Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, March 20, 2018: President Amanda Tietze, President Elect Michelle Mullaly, Vice President Mark Rojek, Secretary Suzette Matthews, Treasurer Tom Clevenger and Sergeant-at-Arms Robert Matthews. The following Trustees were in attendance: Steve Fettman, Kurt Goodenberger, Bruce Schorsten, Mark Clendenin, Bruce Hale, Don Peterson, Frank Fleischer, Bill Liber, Jeff Scott, and Assistant Parliamentarian Dave Ewing.
 
The following Rotarians turned in a makeup during Friday's meeting: Michelle Mullaly (Alliance, 3-All Ohio P.E.T.S); Bill Maddox (North Canton).
