At the weekly meeting on September 14, 2018, President Michelle Mullaly welcomed 60 members and 5 guests to the meeting. President Michelle expressed her sympathy to the families of Rotarian Robert E. Myers, who passed away on September 8, 2018, and Rotarian Dale M. Holwick Jr., who had just passed away on September 13, 2018. She asked everyone to please take the opportunity to sign the sympathy cards for the families of Bob Myers and Dale Holwick.
 
Rotarian Brad Carpenter gave the Invocation.

Congratulations to Rotarian Bill Liber for purchasing the winning 50/50 ticket. Bill won $46.00 in the drawing!
 
Secretary Suzette Matthews welcomed the following guests to the meeting: Dan Soehnlen (speaker); Carol Murphy (guest of President Michelle Mullaly); Wilbur Allen (guest of Steve Fettman); Carol Risaliti (Beacon Charitable Pharmacy); and Erika Schrade (guest/daughter of Dave Schrade).
 
The "Happy Bucks" news was the provided by the following:
  • Dave Schrade - in remembrance of Dale Holwick and his "service above self" to Rotary as well as his service to Lauri and Barb over the past years. He is going to be greatly missed;

  • PP Rick Taylor - in honor of Rotarians Dale Holwick and Bob Myers, who both recently passed away;
  •   -  also to his daughter-in-law, Mandy, who is participating in "Dancing With the Massillon Stars", to raise money for the Lions Lincoln Theatre

  • PP John Werren - in recognition of his daughter-in-law, Stephanie Werren, having given birth on that date 20 years ago........ to triplets!

  • Paula Mastroianni - in recognition of her husband going back to work Monday after having brain surgery, a subsequent infection, and rehabilitation over the past several months;

  • PP Amanda Tietze - in celebration of her and her husbands 20th wedding anniversary;
  •  
  • PP Dan Matthews - in recognition of Suzette Matthews' sister, Sharon Frank Mazga, and Sharon's art show at the Art Stop in Minerva, Ohio;

  • PP Denny Fulmer - in honor of Beacon Charitable Pharmacy;
  •  
  • Dennis Dent - in honor of Dale Holwick and all he did for Rotary;
  •  
  • Suzette Matthews - in honor of her dad, Ed Frank's, health and wellness.
 
 
President Michelle presented a $5,000 check from the Rotary Club of Canton's Endowment Fund to Carol Risaliti, Executive Director for Beacon Charitable Pharmacy;
 
 
 
Oktoberfest committee member, Dennis Dent, reminded everyone about the upcoming "Oktoberfest" event on Thursday, September 20, 2018. Tickets are still available for purchase and, if you have signed up to volunteer, please stop by the table on your way out and pick up your t-shirt.
 
If you have not signed up to volunteer its not too late! We are still in need of many more volunteers to make this event a success.
 
PP Tom Clevenger introduced speaker, Dan Soehnlen, from Superior Dairy.
 
President Michelle concluded the meeting with the following announcements:
  • Next week's speakers will be Rotarians Dan Spring and Greg Luntz from NAI Spring Realty;
  • Don't forget we need volunteers for the Oktoberfest!
  • Please sign the sympathy cards for the families of Rotarians' Bob Myers and Dale Holwick if you have not already done so.
