At the weekly meeting on Friday, September 21, 2018, President Michelle Mullaly welcomed the 60 members and 8 guests to the meeting. President Michelle asked everyone to keep Rotarian Dan Jonas in their thoughts and prayers. Dan is recovering from a very difficult surgery he had a few months ago. A "Thinking of You" card was available for members to sign for Dan.
 
Rotarian Bruce Hale gave the Invocation. Rotarian Becky Clark gave the Rotafact.
 
Congratulations went to PP Amanda Tietze for purchasing the winning 50/50 ticket. Amanda won $59.00 in the drawing!
 
Secretary Suzette Matthews welcomed the following guests to the meeting: Allyson Rey and John Aller (guests of the club from Stark County Mental Health & Addiction Recovery); Janet Luntz (guest/wife of Greg Luntz); Laura Smiley (guest of Michelle Mullaly); Heidi Spring Wallace (guest/wife of Dean Wallace); Bill Rearick (guest of speakers Dan Spring and Greg Luntz); Kelly Sober (guest of PP Fritz Spring); Don Bester (guest of Bruce Schorsten).
 
The "Happy Bucks" news was then provided by the following:
  • Bill Liber - to congratulate Dave Ewing being recognized and honored from the Plain Local Schools (see article above).

President Michelle then presented a $5,000 check from the Rotary Club of Canton's Endowment Fund to John Aller, Executive Director for Stark County Mental Health & Addiction Recovery;
 
 
PP Tom Clevenger introduced the speakers for the meeting, Rotarians Dan Spring and Greg Luntz, from NAI Spring Realty/Spring Electric. The topic for the meeting was the history and growth of the Spring family businesses, plus current trends and recent developments in commercial real estate locally.
 
President Michelle concluded the meeting with the following announcements:
  • next week's meeting will be our monthly fellowship meeting;
  • thank you to everyone who volunteered or attended the 4th annual Oktoberfest event;
  • a reminder to sign the card for Rotarian Dan Jonas;
  • a reminder that Rotarian Dale Holwick's memorial service was to be held at 4 pm that day at Faith United Methodist Church located in North Canton.
The following will receive a makeup for attending the Board meeting on Tuesday, September 18, 2018: President Michelle Mullaly, President Elect Mark Rojek, Treasurer Tom Clevenger, Sergeant-at-Arms Robert Matthews. Trustees attending were: Bruce Hale, Don Peterson, Frank Fleischer, Bill Liber, Steve Fettman, Kurt Goodenberger, Parliamentarian Bob Pattison, Assistant Parliamentarian Dave Ewing.
 
The following will receive a makeup for "prep" work  and/or "set up" on Tuesday/Wednesday prior to the Oktoberfest: Mark Rojek, Rick Taylor, Raquel Raderchak and Bruce Hale (2).
