It is an honor to serve once again as President of the Rotary Club of Canton. As we begin another year together, I find myself reflecting on the remarkable legacy of our club. For more than 111 years, Rotarians have been changing lives, strengthening our community, and building lasting friendships through Service Above Self.
This year, Olayinka Babalola has challenged Rotarians around the world to "harness the change within ourselves, look to the future, and create lasting impact." He reminds us that "the more you change your community and the world, the more you will change." I believe that message is especially meaningful for our club as we look ahead.
While our club looks different than it did years ago, what has never changed is the dedication, compassion, and commitment of our members. I truly believe our future is not defined by the number of people in the room, but by the willingness of each of us to share our time, talents, and passion for service.
This year, I invite each of us to ask a simple question: What is one more thing I can do? Whether it's volunteering at a project, inviting a prospective member to lunch, checking in on a fellow Rotarian, or simply sharing your Rotary story, every contribution matters. Small acts, multiplied across our membership, have the power to create extraordinary impact.
Together, let's choose participation over perfection, hope over worry, and community over complacency. As we continue writing the next chapter in our club's proud history, I am excited to see what we will accomplish—not because of what any one of us can do—but because of what we can do together.
Thank you for the privilege of serving alongside you. Here's to a year of meaningful service, lasting fellowship, and making an even greater difference in our community.

"Calling all Canton Rotarians! You can be an INTEGRAL part of this year's McKinley/Massillon Food Fight", the Stark Hunger Task Force's BIGGEST food drive of the year!
The Task Force has lost the use of their box truck due to age, so they COULD USE OUR HELP TO PICK UP FOOD AT CANTON CITY SCHOOLS, THE CITY OF CANTON & A COUPLE OF OTHER LOCATIONS!
WHAT: Pick up boxes of collected food items at Canton City School locations plus some other spots; there will be people available at the sites to assist with loading into your vehicle.
WHEN: Friday October 23rd starting at noon, with delivery to Ken Weber Goodwill Campus before 4 PM (NOTE: THERE IS NO ROTARY MEETING THAT DAY as our mutual meeting with Massillon is the day before.)
WHAT'S NEEDED: YOU, especially if you have an SUV or pick up truck. We have a list of 17 sites that they need help with; if you are willing to help, we will sit down & assign those sites. The plan will be for each Rotarian or team of Rotarians to pick up at one or two sites, depending on how many volunteers & vehicles we will have. If you have folks at your business or work who might want to help, this would be a great team-building exercise!
If you are able to help, PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP, so we can start planning such that we can be ready to go well BEFORE 10/23!
This is a great opportunity to help one of our community partners in a time of need, as well as to help our neighbors in the community."
(PS: the Stark Hunger Task Force is in need of a 16', dock height box truck, new or a good used truck, at a good price. If you know of any such vehicle, please let me know. They are willing to put a donor or sponsor's name, logo, etc. on the truck. Canton Rotary will be able to help with a small donation to the purchase price. This is the vehicle they use weekly to pick up food at the Akron Canton Food Bank & distirbute to various food missions. It is ESSENTIAL to their mission. Thank you.)
It’s time again for our annual McKinley/Massillon Joint Rotary gathering! Join us on Thursday, October 22, at the Massillon Library. Doors open at 11 a.m. for lunch from an assortment of food trucks, with the program beginning at noon. Please use the link below to sign up and pay. We look forward to seeing you there—wear your team colors and bring your Rotary spirit!
Britt Steiner is joining our meeting this week! Britt worked for nearly 20 years as a diplomat and public servant, traveling to more than 30 countries as a representative of the United States, including Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, South Africa and Tunisia - where she developed and implemented economic development programs and policies that improved livelihoods and strengthened National Security under the leadership of four U.S. Presidents. We look forward to her joining us!
This year District 6650 is acknowledging, celebrating, and honoring our grandparents, parents, spouses, siblings, children, and friends who served with a special event.

“Venerating Our Veterans” will bring together Rotarians, veterans, and families from across east-central Ohio for an evening of history, fellowship, and celebration. It promises to be a memorable tribute held at this phenomenal regional destination.
DG Ryan is asking each Rotarian to contribute only $15.00 so that we can guarantee a free event to our veterans who attend. See the attached for quick easy ways to contribute.
"Thank you in advance for your consideration and for your continued investment in our community and our country." ~ District Governor Ryan Boyce
We’re proud to see the Rotary Club of Canton featured in the Canton Repository!
For generations, our club has believed in the power of Service Above Self and in investing in the people and organizations that make Canton a stronger community.
We are especially proud to work alongside the Stark Community Foundation to help support the amazing local organizations doing incredible work throughout Canton. Together, we’re able to extend Rotary’s impact and continue a long tradition of giving back to the community we are so proud to serve.
Thank you to SCF for highlighting this important milestone—and to our Rotary members, past and present, whose generosity and commitment to service have made it possible.
Here is the list of meeting dates for both our Full board and Exec board meetings. Please mark your calendars now so that we can maintain strong attendance at these meetings.
