STEVE PUSTAY, HALL OF FAME CITY PICKLEBALL CLUB TO SPEAK THIS FRIDAY
Join Steve on Friday to learn about America’s fastest growing sport. There are more than two million people playing Pickle-ball® in the US alone, and the game is exploding in popularity around the world.

The spread of the sport is attributed to its popularity within community centers, PE classes, YMCA facilities and retirement communities. And that is certainly evident right here in Stark County with new courts popping up indoors and outdoors and multiple places to learn and play. The sport continues to grow worldwide as well, with many new international clubs forming and national governing bodies now established on multiple continents.

Steven Pustay is retired from 40 years as a high school and college educator teaching Literature, Computer Science, and Media Arts, plus managing a cable tv station and a local film festival. He holds dual undergraduate degrees in British Literature and Computer Science and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science.

Steven spent more than 20 years with a whistle around his neck, coaching football, track, tennis, and women’s basketball. He first stepped onto a pickleball court in 1988 and has been pleasantly addicted to the game ever since. He writes a monthly newsletter and weekly blog for the Hall of Fame City Pickleball Club in Canton, Ohio and serves as the United States Pickleball Association ambassador for Massillon/Jackson.

Check out the Hall of Fame City Pickleball Club’s website at https://hofcpickleball.com/ for more information and places to play.

OCTOBER 9TH IN-PERSON ROTARY MEETING
Greetings, Rotarians.  While we still await our much anticipated return to our usual in-person meetings, we have been working hard to secure safe locations for our meetings on a weekly basis.  This week, we will be meeting at John's Bar and Grille (2749 Cleveland Ave NW Canton, OH 44709).  This will be slightly different than our past outdoor meetings, as we will have table service and the ability to order lunch directly off the menu.

If you plan to attend the meeting, we still ask that you RSVP so that we can properly set up the room with as much distancing as possible.  As a lifelong tennis player, I'm excited to hear from our speaker this week.  I hope that you will join us in-person or via Zoom as Steven Pustay educates us on the growing sport of Pickleball.  A big thank you goes out once again to Julia for providing us with a great slate of speakers throughout the year.

Have a great week and I look forward to seeing everyone on Friday.

Please forward your RSVP to: dpelger@ramsburginsurance.com or call me at 330-309-8517, by Thursday, October 8th.
