Mark Rojek installed as the Rotary Club of Canton's 2019-2020 President
Mark Rojek is a Financial Advisor and Registered Principal in the Massillon office of Raymond James, helping individuals and organizations in the areas of financial planning and wealth management. With over 30-years in Financial Management and advisory roles, Mark brings a broad range of experience including: personal and business planning, investment management, insurance, qualified plan strategies, legal issues, and taxation. Through his work, Mark’s goal is to educate, enlighten, and enrich his clients’ lives.
Mark holds a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from the University of Buffalo, a Masters Degree in Management from Purdue University, and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Akron School of Law. Prior to his current position, his professional career included work as a management consultant in a Big Four accounting firm and serving as chief financial officer of a privately-held manufacturing company. He holds a non-practicing CPA certification and multiple securities and insurance licenses in Ohio.
Mark has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Canton since June, 2009. He has been involved in several efforts by the club, including: the Health Screen and Wellness Fair, the Pancake Breakfast (back in the day), Oktoberfest, the Pocket Park Project, Pack-the-Bus, and Junior Achievement. He also has served as a member of the marketing and membership committees. He served on the Board of Directors of the club from 2013 to 2016, and will be assuming the role of President in 2019.
Mark has been a resident of Canton since 1986 and is an avid Indians and Browns fan… in addition to his hometown club, the Buffalo Bills. He has served on several local organization boards, including the St. Michaels Archangel Fund, the Ohio Foundation for Music Education, the Canton Museum of Art, and the Market Hills Homeowners Association. Mark is married to his lovely wife, Annetta, and has five adult children and two grandchildren (so far). In his leisure time, Mark loves to chase the little white ball around the golf course and enjoys sporting events, music, and reading.
Please plan to attend our Rotary Club of Canton's meeting this Friday, July 12, 2019, where we will install our Officers and Board of Directors for the new Rotary year. The installing official will be Past President Rick Taylor. Outgoing President Michelle Mullaly will be recognized and honored for her service this past year.
Officers being installed are: Mark Rojek - President; Drew Pelger - President Elect; Mark Clendenin - Vice President; Tom Clevenger - Treasurer; Julia Dick - Secretary; Robert K. Matthews - Sergeant-at-Arms.
New members of the Board of Directors, whose terms will end on June 30, 2022, are: Justin Candea, Paula Mastroianni and Raquel Raderchak.
Instead of the usual Past President party with cookies following a meeting, Outgoing President Michelle Mullaly would like to have a social gathering!
Please plan to attend THISTuesday, July 9 from 5-7 pm. We will meet at Burntwood Tavern in Belden Village. They have great happy hour prices and yummy food. Hope you can join Outgoing President Michelle at her farewell party to celebrate the end of her term.
I want to personally thank all of you for making my year so wonderful! I know that it was difficult to get rid of the head table and the “hello song” and I thank you for sticking with it. I loved our Fellowship Days and I hope you did too. As a Club, we shared a lot of volunteer hours and raised a lot of money. We lost some of our members and made new friends throughout the year.
Thank you to my Executive Board and the Board of Trustees for their year of service. Thank you to our greeters, our attendance-takers, our invocators, our speaker chairs, and everyone else who volunteered their time to help make our Club better. Thank you to Barb and Lauri – without whom I couldn’t have done what I did!
I look forward to continuing to be a part of the Rotary Club of Canton – the finest Rotary Club in the world!
We are just TWO MONTHS AWAY from our largest fundraiser of the year, the 5th Annual Canton Rotary Oktoberfest! On Thursday, September 19, 2019 crowds will throng to Downtown Canton, to enjoy beer from up to 20 local and regional breweries, brats and other German fare from Dave's Brats food truck, musical entertainment and a genuine German dancing and singing.
