PATRICK WYATT, PRESIDENT - DOWNTOWN CANTON SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, TO SPEAK THIS FRIDAY
From the Kresge lot to Centennial Plaza and more: Canton’s exciting comeback
With Centennial Plaza nearly complete, the Hilton DoubleTree now open, the ice rink in full swing and more, Pat Wyatt, the new president of the Downtown Canton Special Improvement District will walk us through a look forward of what’s in store for downtown Canton.

Patrick Wyatt and his wife, Cathy, are ardent supporters of Downtown Canton, so much so that in June of 2020 he was named the president of the Downtown Canton Special Improvement District (DCSID). Wyatt is the first person to hold this title. His responsibilities include the oversight and coordination of business relations, building projects and events taking place in the downtown Canton area. In addition, he has recently taken on management responsibility for the city center ice rink. Wyatt works with other local stakeholders such as the Canton Regional Chamber, the Stark Development Board, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and others.

Wyatt’s prior experience is in law enforcement and investigation, including spending 36 years as a senior investigator for Nationwide Insurance. Additionally, he has served as a part-time detective and officer with the Jackson Twp. Police Department and a senior officer/deputy with Stark County. He and Cathy are best known as the owner of Carpe Diem Coffee Shop, a long-standing downtown Canton business
