Adam has spent the last 15 years in the tech sector, starting with PwC in their IT consulting practice, then later building and managing Microsoft and Symantec’s software license compliance programs. He is now the current CEO of Altaris Cloud (software license consulting company) and owner of UnHitched Brewing Company in Louisville, Ohio. Adam opened UnHitched in October 2019. Unfortunately, half of their first year was operating during the pandemic. Adam will share his insights into opening the brewery, why he chose Louisville, the impact COVID has had on the brewery, and their future plans.
At our Zoom meeting on February 19, 2021, President Drew Pelger, opened the meeting by welcoming a total of 34 Canton Rotarians (live at John's Bar and also via Zoom), plus Tim Blocher, guest/husband of Theresa Blocher.
Becky Clark, who was filling in for Secretary Paula Mastroianni, presented some interesting historical facts for the day and received "Happy Bucks" from Mark Clendenin, Sue Marzano and Denny Fulmer.
President Drew made an announcement that we are looking for volunteers to help move the Rotary office. Anyone interested in helping with moving the office, please contact Drew or Lauri.
President-Elect, Mark Clendenin reported on the 2020-21 committee structure, Charitable fund drive and the Non-Event project.
Occasionally there is a temptation to criticize the laws, customs and traditions of another country which may seem strange or contrary to our own. In some instances illegal practices or customs of one nation are completely lawful and acceptable in another.
As members of an international organization dedicated to world understanding and peace, it behooves Rotarians to exercise restraint in judging our Rotary friends and citizens from other countries when their behavior seems unusual to us. A Rotary policy has existed for more than half a century relating to this dilemma of international relationships.
Since our annual Canton Rotary Oktoberfest was cancelled due to COVID, we are selling the Canton Rotary Brew Card to raise funds for the Canton Rotary Charitable Fund.
The Brew Card provides discounts on food and/or merchandise at nine (9) local and regional breweries and brewpubs.
These cards are valid through June 30, 2021, so as vaccines roll out and folks feel it is safer to visit these breweries, the cards will still be valid!
Brew Cards are on sale now for only $20 via the event page on our Facebook page or through Eventbrite (see link below).
