OCTOBER 2, 2020 ROTARY MEETING CANCELLATION
Due to the cancellation of the McKinley / Massillon joint meeting, our regularly scheduled meeting for Friday October 2nd has been cancelled.  We had originally planned on hosting an offsite social gathering, but due to weather concerns, that plan has unfortunately been scrapped.  There will be no Zoom meeting either on Friday.  We will continue our normally scheduled meetings next Friday October 9th.

As the 2nd quarter of our Rotary year nears, I want to challenge every Rotarian to find a way to be more active within the club.  While we have been presented with many new challenges this year, we are fortunate to have an extremely hardworking team putting together weekly programs that more than meet the standard of our pre-pandemic meetings.  If you have been hesitant to come to the meetings or logon to Zoom, I certainly hope that you will reconsider.  While it’s a different experience, the Zoom option does provide a new level of convenience to you as a member of our organization.  If you have been attending the meetings one way or another I appreciate it greatly.

Make sure to root for McKinley so that I don’t have to eat the spicy wings in a Massillon jersey.  Have a wonderful week, everyone.

CANTON ROTARY CANCELS PARTICIPATION IN MCKINLEY-MASSILLON MEETING

It is with much regret that the Club's Executive Committee has made the decision to cancel the Canton Rotary's participation in the annual McKinley-Massillon joint meeting that was scheduled for this Friday, Oct. 2 to celebrate the long standing football rivalry. It is our hope that we can continue this tradition when McKinley hosts Massillon next year.  If you are one of the members that have registered for the meeting already, we will be issuing refunds from the office.

CONGRATULATIONS TO DAN AND LINDA FULINE

Dan and Linda Fuline's 50th Wedding Anniversary

Gervasi Vineyards was a beautiful setting for the 50th renewal of vows for Dan and Linda (Edell) Fuline. The couple were married at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville, Ohio on August 8, 1970. Dan and Linda recently celebrated their 50th anniversary with family at Gervasi Vineyards.  The event was hosted by sons and daughters-in-law, Drs. Dan J. and Sandra Fuline, Jr., and Michael J. and Amy Fuline.

Dan retired as CEO of Community Services of Stark County. He continues to be active in local organizations and serves on several boards. Linda retired as Superintendent of the Summit County ESC, and currently works as a supervisor for the University of Mount Union.

Together they enjoy traveling, supporting the Mount Union Raiders, Buckeyes, Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians. But, most importantly, they enjoy supporting their nine grandchildren in all they do.

Dan grew up in Lowellville and is a graduate of Youngstown State University and The Ohio State University.  Linda is a native of Hermitage, Pa., and graduated from the University of Akron and Kent State University.  They are members of Saint Louis Parish in Louisville.

The couple are planning a future trip to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
