Not tiring of running
Bob Kroupa Bio
Bob Kroupa is a Strongsville High School and University of Akron graduate, where he earned his
BS in Civil! Engineer. He has earned his Ohio PE License and has worked at Republic Storage
Systems, Aultman Hospital, Alliance Community Hospital and Summa Hospital. His biggest
professional accomplishment was heading up the construction of the new Alliance Community
Hospital.
In his spare time, he enjoys bowling, golf, fishing and running marathons. His first marathon was
the Cleveland Revco Marathon in May of 1981. It was during this race that he discovered
everything you could do WRONG in 26.2 miles. He took the next 27 years off, recovering from
this race, before trying to run his second marathon. Marathon two went much better and he
managed to qualify for his first Boston Marathon. Currently, he has run 50 Marathons, which
includes 18 consecutive Boston Marathons.
