At our Zoom meeting on December 11, 2020, President Drew Pelger (from quarantine) opened the meeting by welcoming 28 Canton Rotarians, guest Brad White, son of Rotarian Paul White, and our speaker, State Representative Thomas West.
Club Secretary Paula Mastroianni presented some interesting historical facts for the day, including this list of "Famous Rotarians":
- Dr. Charles Mayo, Rotary Club of Rochester, NY, the co-founder of the Mayo Clinic
- This one’s for the women…Claude Vuitton, Rotary Club of Paris, France, the owner of the Vuitton luggage empire (Editor's note: What, men can't appreciate fine luggage?)
- Luciano Pavarotti, Rotary Club of Moderno, Italy, the Italian Opera singer
Paula also received "Happy Bucks" from PP Rick Taylor, Dallas Godfrey, Paul Hervey, PDG, PP Bob Pattison, Jim Blake and President Drew Pelger.
Steve Fettman introduced our speaker, State Representative Thomas West, who serves the 49th House District.
