At our Zoom meeting on February 12, 2021, President Drew Pelger, opened the meeting by welcoming a total of 32 Canton Rotarians (live at John's Bar and also via Zoom), plus Debbie Poland, guest of Suzette Matthews, Mike Green, guest of PDG/PP Dave Ewing, and our speaker, Dr. Sarah Tegtmeier.
Secretary Paula Mastroianni presented some interesting historical facts for the day and announced the following famous Rotarians:
- Leopoldo Pirelli of the Rotary Club of Milano, Italy - President, Pirelli Tire Co.
- Gordon Cooper of the Rotary Club of Space Center, Houston, TX - U.S. astronaut
- Donna Shalala of the Rotary Club of Madison, WI - Secretary of Health and Human Services under President Bill Clinton
Paula also received "Happy Bucks" from PDG/PP Dave Ewing, Bob Matthews, Lynn Hamilton and Darin Nissley.
President Drew made the following announcements:
- The Rotary Office will be moving to their new office located at: 116 Cleveland Ave, NW, Suite 525, Canton, Ohio 44702, next week
- He also announced that in April, Derek Gordon's podcast, What's Up Stark?, will be focusing on Rotary and will feature President Drew eating massive quantities of spicy chicken wings to pay off his bet with Massillon Rotary on the outcome of the Bulldogs/Tigers football game.
February Program Chair, Theresa Blocher, introduced our speaker, Dr. Sarah Tegtmeier from Red Star Vet Clinic.
