Our speaker Friday, former Canton Rotarian Jerome Pruett, was drafted in 1965 in the 5th round out of Lehman High School by the St. Louis Cardinals.
Our speaker Friday, former Canton Rotarian Jerome Pruett, was drafted in 1965 in the 5th round out of Lehman High School by the St. Louis Cardinals.Jerome played baseball in Stark County and around the country for 48 years, from 1956 through 2004.
He played under contract for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball organization from 1965 to 1970. He was awarded a major league contract in 1967.
From 1971 to 1985 Jerome played in the Canton Class “A” League. He will be speaking about baseball in the past, compared to the present-day game.
