Scott Higgins, American Dairy Association, Midwest, President & CEO
Have you ever wondered where all your favorite dairy products come from, like yogurt, milk, butter, and cheeses of all varieties, and how they get to your table? Do you know about all the health benefits today’s dairy products offer? Do you really know how much dairy you consume in a year in all its different forms?
The American Dairy Association is comprised of dietitians, school wellness specialists, and communications experts dedicated to educating the public about how today’s dairy foods are produced and the important role they play in a healthy lifestyle.
Most likely, your own dairy foods begin right nearby on a dairy farm here in Ohio, in Stark or nearby Wayne, Holmes, Columbiana or Tuscarawas County.
Scott will explain the unprecedented challenges today’s family-owned and operated dairy farms face and how they may affect you and your family. From environmental and regulatory challenges to supply chain disruptions and milk processing plant closures, from herd health and bovine nutrition issues to changing consumer tastes and mis-information, plus unpredictable international demand and tariff issues…you’ll gain a better understanding of each from today’s speaker, Scott Higgins.
Scott has led the Midwest Division of American Dairy Association for 36 years and he received a BS in Agricultural Economics from The Ohio State University in 1984. He lives in Johnstown, Ohio.
Join us this Friday at 11:30 for some fun facts about dairy and listen to Scott Higgins at 12:00. Be sure to bring your own dairy lunch like a grilled cheese sandwich, or maybe a cheeseburger, some strawberry yogurt, a glass of cold milk, a dish of cottage cheese, and some fresh peaches and cream for dessert!

Rotarians, we encourage you to support our host of our weekly meetings (when we're able to meet face-to-face, or mask-to-mask, again), St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, and their Krassas Event Center.
Most of us have had the pleasure of sampling their wonderfully authentic Greek food at our meetings or at their previous 'normal' festival. This year, it will be a DRIVE-THRU Festival, only!
You gotta eat, so why not dive-thru and pick up some delicious Greek food to support our friends at St. Haralambos!
