MICHELLE MULLALY SUPPORTED AS DISTRICT GOVERNOR NOMINEE DESIGNATE 2022-2023
Many of you know that we Rotarians are part of a wide network of Rotarians spread across the globe.  The next level up from the club level is the district level, which for our District 6650 encompasses 45 clubs in our area.  Our current District Governor is Scott Schulick, representing the Youngstown club. Our incoming Governor is Dan Morgan, from the Jackson Township Rotary. We have had several members of our club who have served as District Governors, including Bob Pattison and Dave Ewing.  It is the job of our club's leadership to nominate a qualified individual from Canton Rotary to be considered for the District Governor position.

Any such nominees should be leaders in their club, having served as President, been successful in their business or profession, and been leaders in their church or community.  With these guidelines in mind, I am pleased to announce that the Rotary Club of Canton will submit our very own Michelle Mullaly to the district nominating committee as a candidate for District Governor Nominee for Rotary Year 2022-2023.  As you know, Michelle has brought great energy and commitment to our club… and I am sure she will do the same at the district level.

It is required that a resolution of support for Michelle be approved by our club's members.  Therefore, at the May 3. 2019 meeting, I made a motion that The Rotary Club of Canton submit the name of Michelle Mullaly to the Nominating Committee of District 6650, Rotary International, as candidate for District Governor Nominee Designate for the Rotary year 2022-2023.  The motion was seconded by PP Virginia Neutzling. The nomination was put to a vote and overwhelmingly approved.

Congratulations, Michelle, and good luck!  We’re proud to have you as a member and representative of our club!

"UNEVENT RAFFLE" COMING YOUR WAY!
For our 'Non-Event Raffle', we hope that you won't come to the event we are not having and not eat the great food that we are not providing.  Okay, so now you have an idea of what this Non-Event event is, or I guess in this case, what it isn't.

Our Non-Event Raffle raises funds to benefit our various Canton Rotary Projects, as well as providing funding for the Youth Backpack Food program, Youth Mentoring programs, and an Opiate Neutralization Bag program.  All such projects are in the Canton City Schools and/or in the City of Canton.  The ticket price is low and purchasing is available online, so we encourage you to get others, even those outside of our club, involved in buying or selling tickets, so they have the opportunity to be part of our community support.

At four weekly meetings between May and June, we will draw two door prize winners at each, with a $500.00 grand prize to be drawn at the fourth meeting.  (Winners need not be present, door prize winners can only win once, but all winning and non-winning tickets will be eligible for the $500 grand prize.)

Tickets are $20 each and may be purchased on Eventbrite at:

There are 120 active members of the Rotary Club of Canton and we have 500 tickets to sell before the first Friday in May.  Please commit to selling at least 4 or 5 tickets before the end of April because "many hands make for light work". Thanks!
